Senior Structural Integrity Engineer
Job Description

Job description

Senior Structural Integrity Engineer

Location: Leiden
Weekly standard hours: 40.00
Department: Engineering
Seniority Level: Senior
Job Requisition ID: 927

When decades of offshore history meet today’s engineering challenge.

As a Senior Structural Integrity Engineer, you work on offshore structures that have already lived a life. Jackets and top sides may have been operating for decades, modified multiple times and documented with varying levels of detail. When these structures need to be lifted, transported or decommissioned, understanding how they will behave is anything but straightforward.

That is where your engineering judgement makes the difference. Using tools such as SACS and DNV Sesam/Genie, you assess structural integrity, challenge assumptions and determine the right analysis approach. You turn complex structural behavior and sometimes incomplete information into clear, practical and technically robust solutions that can be executed offshore.

You independently drive your structural integrity scope from definition through analysis, verification and delivery. Depending on the project, you may also act as Lead Engineer, reviewing work and guiding less experienced engineers while remaining closely involved in the technical analysis yourself.

What will you be working on?

  • Building, checking and interpreting structural models using SACS, DNV Sesam/Genie or similar software.
  • Assessing offshore jackets, top sides and related structures for lifting, load-out, transportation and decommissioning.
  • Defining fit for purpose analysis strategies, assumptions and acceptance criteria.
  • Developing practical and robust engineering solutions when structural information, geometry or condition is uncertain.
  • Independently managing your technical scope, priorities, risks, interfaces and deliverables towards Project Engineers.
  • Acting as Lead Engineer when required, reviewing analyses and guiding less experienced engineers.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering methods, workflows, quality standards and tools.

What do you bring?

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Several years of relevant structural engineering experience, with the ability to independently manage complex engineering scopes.
  • A strong background in steel structures, structural analysis and relevant engineering codes and standards.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as SACS, DNV Sesam/Genie, STAAD. Ro, SCIA or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with practical engineering judgement.
  • The ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly in English.
  • An interest in supporting and coaching less experienced engineers.
  • The flexibility to work temporarily offshore, abroad or from one of our international offices.

Experience with offshore structures, ageing or modified assets, lifting, transportation or decommissioning is a strong advantage.

Your foundation for success

You enjoy solving complex engineering problems where there is not always one obvious answer. You are comfortable taking ownership, challenging assumptions and making sound engineering decisions, even when information is incomplete.

You combine technical depth with a practical mindset and know how to translate complex structural analyses into clear recommendations. You work well with others, share your knowledge and help less experienced engineers grow.

Here’s why people love working with us

  • Strong compensation & benefits, including an annual bonus plan tied to company performance.
