Procurement Specialist - Vessels & Equipment

Your role in the story

At Heerema, our vessels and equipment operate in some of the world's most challenging offshore environments. As a Procurement Specialist, you play a vital role in ensuring that critical materials, spare parts, and services are available when and where they are needed.

You combine commercial insight with technical understanding to secure the best value for the business while supporting safe and efficient offshore operations. Your work directly contributes to the successful execution of projects worldwide.

What you will be working on

As part of the Procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing a broad range of goods and services for the operation and maintenance of Heerema's vessels and equipment. You will work closely with Technical Superintendents, Chief Storekeepers, and other internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities support operational excellence.

Your responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and processing daily procurement requests.
• Identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers.
• Negotiating contracts and fixed-price agreements for recurring purchases.
• Consolidating long-tail spend and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Conducting market research and supplier analyses.
• Creating and managing Purchase Orders in SAP.
• Monitoring supplier performance and delivery reliability.
• Analyzing procurement data and providing up-to-date market, vendor, and product insights.
• Ensuring purchases are made on the best commercial and contractual terms while maintaining continuity of operations.

Key ingredients for success:

• A vocational degree or equivalent working and thinking level, preferably in a technical or business-related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a technical, industrial, maritime, or offshore environment.
• Additional procurement qualifications, such as NEVI or equivalent.
• Thorough knowledge of procurement and sourcing processes.
• Experience with contract preparation and commercial terms & conditions.
• Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
• A team-oriented, persistent, and solution-driven attitude.
