As a Technical Project Manager in our new Porto office, you play a key role in the preparation and execution of complex offshore projects.
Your role in the story
As a Technical Project Manager at Heerema Marine Contractors, you are leading and driving the technical preparation of offshore projects. You work at the heart of multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that engineering activities are aligned, structured and delivered on time.
In this role, you combine technical expertise with coordination and ownership. You lead the translation of complex offshore challenges into practical and executable project solutions.
You will be part of a growing engineering team in Porto and work closely with engineers across different disciplines. Together, you contribute to delivering complex offshore projects while building a strong and collaborative working environment.
What you will be working on
- Coordinating and controlling engineering activities across disciplines within projects
- You keep overview of scope, planning and interfaces, ensuring alignment across disciplines
- Planning and organising work, including defining required resources and competences
- Ensuring alignment between engineering, subcontractors and project stakeholders
- Developing offshore execution methods and selecting required equipment
- Supporting project preparation and execution for offshore operations
- Reviewing and coordinating internal and external deliverables (drawings, reports, procedures)
- Managing subcontractors from scope definition to delivery and handover
- Contributing to tender activities and future project developments
Key ingredients for success
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Maritime or Aerospace Engineering
- 5–10 years of experience in engineering, project preparation and/or execution of offshore projects
- Experience in coordinating work and managing interfaces within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Ability to maintain overview while working on complex and dynamic scopes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A proactive and ownership-driven mindset
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Willingness to travel internationally and work offshore when required
- Comfortable working in a growing and developing organisation
