In the exciting world of the offshore industry, occupational health is one of our number one priorities! The Occupational Hygienist is a position that supports the organization and project teams with occupational health requirements.
Together with your HSE colleagues you will be the ambassador of our Dare to Care mindset, HSE principles and focus on continual improvement of HSE systems, processes and reporting.

What you will be working on:

  • Advise all company and/or project specific (subcontractor) personnel on occupational health & safety protection matters
  • Provide input for project inventory reports with special attention to hazardous materials (incl. e.g. NORM, Asbestos, Mercury etc.)
  • Set-up and maintain a database with exposure values and PPE requirements for all relevant offshore (project) activities
  • Prepare (project) health monitoring plans (nature, exposure level and duration of working with hazardous materials a.o.).
  • Recommend control measures to minimize exposure and developing strategies which will control the hazards at the workplace during projects
  • Provide support related to occupational hygiene during the execution of (decommissioning) projects; accurately measuring and sampling levels of exposure, through approved methods
  • Monitoring the potential exposure to harmful substances in the workplace and legal requirements regarding occupational hygiene and communicate these results to the relevant people (company and/or project related).

Key ingredients for success:

  • Competency to implement monitoring strategy, carry out health monitoring, interpret results and undertake risk assessments with risk management recommendations
  • Post-Bachelor degree in Occupational / Industrial Hygiene
  • A completed radiation protection training (RPE / RPO) is an advantage
  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in preferably offshore decommissioning related to oil and gas industry or work environment.
