Associate Enterprise Architect
Job Description

Job description

Ready to extend your impact beyond individual solutions? As Associate Enterprise Architect, you help shape a coherent and future‑proof digital landscape across the organisation.

Your role in the story:

As an Associate Enterprise Architect, you help translate business needs and solution initiatives into a coherent and future‑proof enterprise landscape.

This role is designed for an experienced Solution Architect who is ready to expand their impact beyond individual solutions and contribute to enterprise‑wide architecture. You work closely with senior architects, delivery teams and business stakeholders to improve alignment, consistency and transparency across the IT landscape.

You play a key role in bridging the gap between incoming demand, enterprise architecture and delivery. By structuring ideas early and translating them into clear, actionable work, you ensure that technology decisions are well‑founded and scalable.

You are not just supporting architecture, you actively contribute to shaping how technology decisions are made across the organisation.

What you will be working on:

  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of the enterprise application and technology landscape
  • Participating in architecture reviews to ensure solution designs align with architectural standards and target architecture
  • Structuring and refining incoming demand (e.g. TopDesk intake) into clear problem statements, business value and defined scope
  • Driving and supporting the early stages of initiatives (Intake, Investigate, Definition), translating ideas into actionable Epics and Features in Azure DevOps
  • Ensuring alignment between architectural direction and delivery by working closely with Product Owners and delivery teams to create a usable, value‑driven backlog
  • Translating solution‑level insights into enterprise‑level models, patterns and reusable approaches
  • Supporting business capability mapping and alignment between processes, IT solutions and incoming demand
  • Maintaining architecture documentation, models and repository data (e.g. LeanIX) to ensure transparency and consistency
  • Assessing new initiatives and solution proposals from an enterprise architecture perspective
  • Collaborating with delivery teams to ensure alignment between enterprise direction and implementation
  • Contributing to the evolution of architecture standards, patterns and reference architectures

Your future colleagues:

Of course you are curious to meet us as well! In this role, you work closely with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Product Owners, delivery teams and senior business stakeholders. You operate in a collaborative environment where dialogue, shared understanding and alignment between business and IT are essential.

You are part of a broader IT & Digital community where architecture, delivery and business work together to realise sustainable and impactful solutions.

Is this the job for you?

You are an experienced Solution Architect (or similar) who wants to take the next step toward enterprise architecture. You enjoy understanding the bigger picture and helping organisations make more consistent, scalable and future‑proof technology decisions.

You are curious, structured and collaborative, and you want to grow your influence beyond individual systems into shaping the broader digital landscape.

You are comfortable working in environments where incoming demand is not always fully defined and enjoy bringing structure, clarity and direction to complex requests.

Key ingredients for success:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of experience in Solution Architecture, Application Architecture or complex IT environments
  • Experience designing and delivering enterprise‑grade solutions
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns, cloud environments, APIs and modern application architectures
  • Familiarity with architecture modelling approaches (e.g. ArchiMate, BPMN)
  • Exposure to enterprise architecture tooling (e.g. LeanIX) is a plus
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments
  • Experience with structured intake processes, backlog management or translating business demand into delivery‑ready work items
  • Strong analytical thinking, documentation and stakeholder communication skills
  • Motivation and ambition to grow into a broader enterprise architecture role
