Become part of a team that drives the future of Heerema Marine Contractors!
Your role in the story:
Within Product Development, you work in a multidisciplinary team on concrete challenges from operations, projects, and commercial needs. In short sprints, you develop solutions with a clear goal: bringing workable solutions closer to offshore application, ranging from new technologies and installation methods to improvements to our vessels and operations.
Alongside team-based projects, you work on your own innovations and translate ideas into applications that truly make a difference on our vessels. Our vessels are regularly used as a “lab”, where solutions are tested, validated, and improved in a real offshore environment. You continuously collaborate with operations, engineering, and commercial teams to create real impact.
We are looking for a curious and analytical problem-solver with strong development potential: someone with the ambition and ability to grow within our organization. You have a hands-on, experimental mindset, take ownership, maintain a helicopter view, and effectively manage stakeholders. You seek to fully understand the underlying problem before moving to solutions and remain persistent, even when facing challenges and setbacks. You are comfortable with failure and see it as an essential part of the learning process. You understand that product development is inherently uncertain and that not every idea will succeed, and that this is exactly where value is created: by learning, accelerating, and making better decisions over time.
What you will be working on:
- New vessel concepts
- State-of-the-art installation methods
- Tooling
- Helping start-ups to succeed
- Implementating new sensor technology
Key ingredients for success:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a broad technical field (e.g. Industrial Design Engineering, Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering or Technical Business Administration)
- Around 2 years of experience beyond traditional engineering, combining creativity with feasibility thinking
- A background in industrial design or similar, focused on understanding problems before solving them
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a creative and solution-oriented mindset
- The ambition and flexibility to work (temporarily) offshore, abroad or in one of our international offices
Your future colleagues:
Of course you are curious to meet us as well! Among others, you will work with Maarten Veldhuizen, Jelle ter Braak and Thijs Kamphuis!
