Lead Subsea Engineering Services
Job Description

Job description

Take ownership. Lead the discipline. Deliver with impact across discipline.

Your role in the story
We are looking for a Lead Engineer who takes ownership of the discipline, both in its current performance and in its developments for the future. In this role you are responsible for Subsea Engineering Services (ROV/Subsea Tooling, Survey and Positioning) across all Business Units (T&I, Decom and Wind). You ensure that engineering is delivered in a predictable, efficient and fit-for-purpose way. As Lead Engineer, you play a key role within Discipline Engineering, working closely with other disciplines such as Structural, Marine, Foundation and Mechanical Engineering. The focus is on creating alignment and one consistent way of working across disciplines. You are not only accountable for the output, but also for how the work is delivered and how the discipline continues to evolve

What you will be working on
You ensure that projects and tenders run smoothly and predictably, driving standardization and the reuse of solutions to avoid unnecessary variation. At the same time, you look beyond day-to-day operations: you set the direction for SES, translate this into clear priorities and make sure that improvements and innovations are implemented and scaled.

This role requires strong leadership. You make decisions, create clarity in expectations and priorities, and ensure that people take ownership for results. You actively build a strong and future-proof discipline by developing the team, managing performance and ensuring continuity in key positions. You stay close enough to the technical content to remain credible, without becoming a bottleneck yourself.

Success in this role means demonstrating ownership, providing direction and delivering results through others, while connecting disciplines and Business Units to drive overall performance.

Key ingredients for success

  • Strong engineering background in Subsea Engineering Services (ROV/Subsea Tooling or Survey & Positioning)
  • Proven experience in leading teams and delivering through others
  • Ability to operate across multiple Business Units and balance competing priorities
  • Track record in improving ways of working and driving change
  • Clear and direct communicator
  • Comfortable taking ownership and making decisions

What matters

  • Fit-for-purpose over gold-plated
  • Clarity over complexity
  • Ownership over consensus
  • Delivery over intent
