Do you have in depth financial knowledge needed for managing the operating financials of HMC’s Fleet and Equipment?
Your role in the story
As Cost Controller, you are one of the key figures within the Operations and Equipment directorate and you perform internal financial analysis and monitor budget and forecast constraints of a diverse Fleet and Equipment. You prepare yearly forecasts, you take ownership for correct cost allocations to projects and you perform analysis on all operating OPEX and CAPEX (Operations, Crewing, Departmental, Maintenance, Replacements). You are responsible for monthly financial management information, in which you need to gather, combine and interpret information from different disciplines.
What you will be working on:
- You will be responsible for controlling all cost aspects for one of HMC’s large crane vessels;
- Completing the monthly financial Cost Center close process including analytical review of the variances;
- Preparation of yearly budgets and related financial reporting;
- Review, update and develop forecasting methods for various cost types to improve and maintain high quality forecasts. Ensuring jointly with Budget Holders, optimum administration and insight in costs per cost type and assets;
- Taking initiative to support management in reducing the cost levels of the company. Identify targets and incorporate potential improvements in forecasts;
- Consolidating the various forecasts into overall cost reports for senior management review and approval. Assists the Budget Holders in presentations/reports to Senior Management and internal stakeholders;
- Preparation of the annual close-out and related statutory and consolidated balance statements for Fixed Assets and Inventory;
- Providing ad hoc reporting as required by the Operations & Equipment directorate / Manager Cost Control.
Key ingredients for success:
- A Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance or equivalent;
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in controlling; experience in (or affinity with) a technical production environment is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Suite in particular Excel, experience with SAP is a pre;
- Driven by accomplishing results together and able to convince others by arguments based on facts, practical knowledge and logic;
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English both written and spoken;
